Description
The steel mast foundation system is a combination of GA-1 ground anchors and MB-1 mast base. This solution has a number of advantages over other methods of foundationing masts. Firstly, the foundations can be transported in a regular delivery vehicle and are relatively light. Their low weight means that they can be installed in the trench manually, without the use of heavy equipment. The prefabricated steel structure means that the ready-filled foundation can be loaded immediately after its construction (quick installation of the mast). Foundations of this series, like all others, should not be used in soils with high plasticity (clay, loam) without replacing or improving the soil. In cohesive soils, the GA-1 anchor can work under the surface of groundwater - however, remember to take into account the decrease in the ballasting mass of the soil by the water displacement (in accordance with Archimedes' principle) and compensate for this with the anchor installation depth. The MB-1/GA-1 Foundation System is only suitable for telecommunications masts and is not intended for foundations of towers.
The Mast Ground Anchor System is: :
- Fast one-day installation,
- Only for masts (not useful for towers),
- The system consists of one MB-1 base and a set of GA-1 anchors (depending on the rope layout),
- For high loads, we recommend placing the MB-1 base on a dry concrete slab, leveled and compacted,
- MB-1 withstands up to 11 tons of compression,
- GA-1 withstands 5 tons of pull-out force at a burial depth of three meters. Strength increases with depth,
- Compatible with all masts up to a height of 40 meters,
- It is possible to use a reinforced version of the anchor for masts up to 120 meters high. Details after consultation with AluPro technical support,
- The solution does not depend on the type of soil,
- The anchors should be installed above the groundwater level, or appropriate corrections should be made in the calculations of the anchor foundation depth for the water buoyancy.
GA-1 set contains: :
- 1 basket anchor
- 1 rod with a diameter of 20 mm and a length of 4 meters
- 1 set of guy rope holders
- note - the equalizer (connector for guy ropes) is not part of the set
MB-1 set contains: :
- 1 base
- 4 screws and nuts for the mast swing foot
