THE ROLE OF GROUND SCREWS IN ALUPRO PROJECTS
Structures placed on the ground require foundations. Cast reinforced concrete foundations are quite expensive and take time to set, prefabricated concrete foundations are free from this disadvantage, but they require at least an excavator and a delivery truck to bring them to the construction site. And what if the installation site prevents its entry? The least troublesome solution seems to be steel ground anchors - however, in the case of certain types of soil, the anchor should be filled with replaced soil. There is a problem with the delivery and cost of a dump truck of sand. In either case, foundations mean a considerable cost for us and dependence on external companies (earthworks).
During installations abroad, we had the opportunity to learn the technique of foundationing structures using ground screws. We used this technique to anchor small towers (specifically the T1000-16 model) in mountainous terrain, where, despite exposure to gusty winds, they have remained unthreatened for several seasons.
We decided to transfer the technique to the domestic market. We made a prototype of the screws and successfully tested them in action. Our tests have shown the vertical pull-out resistance for a 1.8-meter-long screw to be at least 5 tons (40 cm of chernozem, river sands of various fractions below).
We invite interested customers to test the above solution together. If we obtain positive results from installations carried out in Poland and using screws manufactured by AluPro, we will introduce this foundation method to our permanent offer.
