How does the aluminum welding technique affect the weld strength?

The quality of the weld is crucial for the safety of the product. At Alupro we weld exclusively TIG technique on the best machines Fronius and Kemppi. TIG welding is quite slow, but guarantees deep penetration and high control over the quality of the weld. This is a method that allows you to obtain very clean and aesthetic welds, which is especially important in the case of production of elements that require not only strength, but also precise finishing. If we combine this technique with work on a welding turntable, we get exemplary quality welds, with a minimum amount of impurities and high uniformity.

An alternative in aluminum welding is the MIG method – it is much faster and requires fewer qualifications from the welder (easier to master), but control over the weld power and penetration is lower. At AluPro, we use this technique only for steel products, where the problems known from aluminum welding do not occur. The MIG method, although less precise and less aesthetic, is more efficient for serial production, where the execution time translates into the cost of the product for the client. This technique is ideal for projects that do not pose complicated welding challenges, but need to be completed quickly.
