Description
The cone is used for lightning protection of omnidirectional antennas (most often mounted on WADM series booms below the cone). The cone is an alternative to a taller mast. The advantage of the cone is a lower price for a comparable height (less material) and reduced windage of the entire structure - which reduces the reaction to the building.
