The main difference between masts and towers is the convenience of use and the amount of space needed for their installation. There is also an economic aspect. Generally, towers are more expensive, but require much less space, and masts are cheaper, but the plot needed to accommodate the guying system must be much larger.
Masts require periodic inspections and rope tension checks; in a critical situation, they may fall over as a result of gross operating errors. Although the towers are more expensive, they are maintenance-free, especially if they are made of aluminum and use sets of stainless screws. There is also no risk of the tower collapsing due to incorrect service or sabotage.
Towers, especially those with a top width of one meter, are significantly safer and more convenient to operate. An internal ladder makes it easier for the service technician to move around the structure. It is covered with a natural basket inside the tower. The towers allow easy installation of the Securo anti-fall system (option in AuPro T1000 towers).
The last aspect is the issue of nature protection. In some foreign markets, as well as in selected areas of Poland (e.g. Natura 2000), there are restrictions on the use of lashings due to bird protection. In this arrangement, towers may be the only choice available.
