How does the aluminum welding technique affect the weld strength?

The quality of the weld is crucial to the safety of the product. At AluPro, we weld aluminum exclusively using the TIG method, with Fronius and Kemppi machines. TIG welding is a slow process, but it ensures deep penetration and full control over the quality of the weld. This method allows us to achieve very clean and aesthetically pleasing joints—which is particularly important for components that require both strength and a precise finish. Combining this technique with work on a welding turntable results in exemplary weld quality, minimal contamination, and high structural uniformity.

An alternative to TIG is the MIG method—significantly faster and easier to master, though it offers less control over welding power and penetration. At AluPro, we use this technique exclusively for steel products, where the problems typical of aluminum welding do not occur. MIG works well in mass production, where shorter production times directly translate to lower final costs—however, for components requiring high precision and durability, we definitely prefer the TIG method.
